CoatTech Intelligent Equipment, a premier manufacturer of industrial surface finishing solutions, has officially finalized the engineering design for a highly specialized, heavy-duty paint booth destined for a major metal and steel fabrication facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The project presented a unique set of engineering challenges that standard off-the-shelf spray booths could not solve. Operating within a high-capacity industrial hangar, the client faced strict spatial limitations, including a maximum vertical clearance of just 3.7 meters due to existing fire sprinkler lines, and an absolute prohibition on foundation pit excavation.
Rising to the challenge, the CoatTech engineering team completely reimagined the flagship KT-PQ-III-PLUS model, delivering a bespoke solution that maximizes operational efficiency without compromising on safety or structural integrity.
Overcoming Spatial and Safety Challenges
To bypass the need for civil pits and loading ramps, CoatTech implemented an advanced Side-Wall Exhaust Plenum (Side-Downdraft) system. This allows the massive 4.7m x 4.0m x 3.0m internal cabin to sit completely flush with the hangar's existing concrete floor, ensuring that heavy steel structures can be safely maneuvered by forklifts without incline risks.
Furthermore, to comply with the UAE’s rigorous industrial fire codes, the engineering team upgraded the entire cabin structure to 120KG/m³ Rockwool (Mineral Wool) Panels, achieving a Class-A1 fire resistance rating.
Key Customizations Engineered for the UAE Facility:
1.Height-Optimized Design: The external height was meticulously engineered down to 3.5 meters, ensuring a safe 200mm clearance beneath the hangar's critical fire sprinkler system.
2.Dual-Processing Capability: A newly integrated 100 KG mobile ceiling-mounted hanging system allows the client to seamlessly switch between coating massive floor-standing steel frames and suspending smaller industrial parts.
3.Maximum Explosion Protection: The booth operates as a pure-spray environment equipped with fully sealed, IP65-rated explosion-proof LED lighting systems (≥ 1000 LUX), guaranteeing absolute safety in high-concentration VOC environments.
4.Ergonomic Maintenance Integration: The design features a dedicated maintenance access path and a built-in stainless steel compressed air pipeline with dual quick-connectors, drastically improving operator workflow and labor safety.
