Designed to meet the stringent quality demands of the global automotive supply chain,
production capacity of 350 parts per hour while maintaining flawless finish standards.
Engineered for Complex Plastic Substrates
Applying solvent-based coatings to plastic materials requires meticulous surface preparation and static management. To address this, the CoatTech engineering team has integrated a comprehensive pre-treatment phase.
The line features an alcohol degreasing station combined with dual ionized air blow-off systems, ensuring all mold release agents, dust, and static electricity are entirely eliminated before the parts enter the spray zone.
To maintain precision throughout the process, the line is equipped with a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) conveyor system, allowing operators to adjust line speeds seamlessly between 1.5 and 3.5 meters per minute.
Advanced 3-Coat 1-Bake (3C1B) Process Integration
The core of the new line is a highly efficient "3-Coat 1-Bake" wet-on-wet solvent painting process. The spray booths are strategically sized to accommodate both automated application (robots or reciprocators) and manual touch-up stations, maximizing production flexibility:
1.Primer Booth: 6.0 – 8.0 meters
2.Base Coat (Color) Booth: 8.0 – 9.5 meters
3.Top Coat (Varnish) Booth: 8.0 – 9.5 meters
To prevent coating defects such as solvent popping or pinholes, CoatTech has engineered extensive 7 to 15-minute flash-off zones between each layer. This ensures proper solvent evaporation at room temperature before the components enter the curing phase.
Flexible Energy Solutions and Space Optimization
Recognizing the diverse operational costs (OPEX) across international markets, the final curing oven—which operates at a safe, plastic-friendly 65°C for 10 minutes—is designed with dual-energy compatibility. Facility managers can opt for either Natural Gas or Electrical heating systems depending on local utility rates, ensuring maximum cost-efficiency.
Despite the high throughput and multi-stage flash-off requirements, the CoatTech engineering team successfully condensed the entire heavy-duty layout. The system can be configured in either a linear or U-shape footprint, fitting perfectly within a standard 60m x 24m industrial workshop.
