Overview
The CoatTech Prep Station is the essential workhorse for any body shop, designed to handle "dirty" work like sanding, grinding, and primer application. By performing these tasks in a dedicated, curtained area with powerful downdraft extraction, you keep your high-end spray booth free for final topcoats. This station features a rear plenum and soft PVC curtains for easy vehicle access and effective dust containment.
Core Features
Flexible Enclosure: Features heavy-duty PVC Manual Curtains on the front and sides for rapid vehicle entry/exit, with a solid EPS insulated rear wall for structural stability.
Downdraft Dust Control: Equipped with a raised metal basement (300mm height) with a combination of checker plates and floor grates to pull heavy sanding dust downward and away from the operator's breathing zone.
Balanced Airflow: Uses a push-pull system with two 4.0 kW Centrifugal Fans (one intake, one exhaust) delivering 15,000 m³/h of airflow to ensure continuous fresh air circulation.
Multi-Stage Filtration: Protects the workshop environment with a 4-stage filter system: Inlet pre-filter, Ceiling high-efficiency filter, Floor fiberglass paint-stop filter, and Exhaust medium-efficiency filter.

Detailed Product Description
Optimized Workflow for Body Shops The CT-PREP-200 is the workhorse of the body shop. By performing sanding, masking, and priming in this dedicated station, you prevent dust contamination in your main spray booth. This dramatically improves the quality of your final topcoat.
Airflow Design (Semi-Downdraft) Air is drawn from the workshop through the top plenum filters (cleaning the air), moves downwards over the vehicle to capture sanding dust and primer overspray, and is exhausted through the rear wall or floor pit. This ensures the technician breathes clean air.
PVC Curtain Enclosure Unlike a fixed booth, the Prep Station uses sliding PVC curtains.
Convenience: Easily slide curtains open to move cars in and out quickly.
Visibility: Transparent windows allow the manager to monitor work progress.
Durability: Resistant to solvents and wear.
Energy Saving Strategy Don't turn on your 15kW Paint Booth just to spray a bumper with primer. Use the Prep Station (5.5kW) instead. It creates a cleaner environment than the open shop floor but costs a fraction of the price to operate.
Q: Can I spray the final topcoat (Color/Clear) in this Prep Station? A: Technically yes, but we do not recommend it for high-quality finishes. The Prep Station is not a sealed environment like a Spray Booth, so there is a higher risk of dust. It is best used for Primer and Putty.
Q: Does it need a metal base (basement)? A: No. The most popular model is the "Rear Draft" version. It sits on your existing flat concrete floor and sucks air out through a filter box on the back wall. This saves money on ramps and steel bases.
Q: Can you make a station for 3 cars at once? A: Yes, we can connect multiple units together (side-by-side) to create a multi-bay sanding line.
Q: Is the fan unit noisy? A: We use a dynamic balanced centrifugal fan with a belt drive, which keeps noise levels below 75dB.
