1.Industrial Spray Booth for Large LPG Tanks | CoatTech
Heavy-duty industrial spray booth designed for large LPG tanks and pressure vessels. Features rail transfer systems and high-efficiency curing for heavy machinery.
2.Project Overview
Coating massive, multi-ton cylindrical structures like LPG tanks and pressure vessels requires specialized environmental controls and heavy-duty material handling. This custom-engineered industrial spray booth and curing oven provides a clean, controlled environment for applying high-durability, anti-corrosion finishes.
Material Handling & Workflow Integration
To accommodate the immense weight and awkward dimensions of pressure vessels, this facility is integrated with a heavy-duty floor rail transfer system. Tanks are mounted on specialized support saddles on a heavy-duty transfer cart, allowing seamless transition from overhead crane loading directly into the coating and curing zones.

4. Technical Challenges & Solutions
Engineering Solutions for Heavy Vessel Coating
Coating large-scale cylindrical infrastructure presents unique environmental and handling challenges.
Our engineering team designed this facility to address the core bottlenecks in heavy vessel surface treatment.
Challenge 1: Safe and Efficient Material Handling
The Issue: LPG tanks and pressure vessels weigh several tons, making them difficult to maneuver safely inside an enclosed booth without damaging the fresh coating or the booth structure.
The CoatTech Solution: We integrated a heavy-duty floor rail system combined with custom saddle-mount transfer carts. This allows the vessels to be loaded via overhead crane outside the booth, then smoothly and precisely rolled into the spray and baking zones. This minimizes handling risks and significantly increases operational throughput.
Challenge 2: Uniform Airflow over Cylindrical Surfaces
The Issue: The curved surfaces of large tanks can disrupt standard airflow patterns, leading to overspray turbulence, uneven coating thickness, and paint bounce-back.
The CoatTech Solution: The booth utilizes an optimized directional airflow design. By carefully calculating the extraction rates and positioning the intake plenums, the system creates a smooth, continuous draft that hugs the curvature of the tank, pulling overspray down and away from the operator and the workpiece.
Challenge 3: Consistent Heat Distribution for Curing
The Issue: Thick steel walls of pressure vessels act as massive heat sinks, making it difficult to achieve the uniform curing temperatures required for high-grade industrial anti-corrosion coatings.
The CoatTech Solution: The curing oven is equipped with a high-capacity, multi-point thermal distribution system. This ensures rapid, uniform temperature elevation across the entire surface area of the tank, guaranteeing optimal cross-linking of the paint film for maximum durability in harsh environments.
